NEW science and faith teaching materials

Hi everyone and welcome to July’s blog.

After a long delay – apologies – a long-awaited revision of teaching resources has now been drafted for God’s Cosmic Cookbook.

Taking on board advice from teachers, parents and youth group workers around the country and beyond, each session or lesson continues to feature activities for the children to enjoy and suggestions for ongoing study. Improvements include:

  • More detailed introductory notes for parents, teachers and group leaders

  • A clear summary of learning outcomes and course objectives

  • A summary of the theme and learning topics at the start of each session

  • An improved and expanded layout

As ever, your comments and input would be warmly welcomed… what works, anything you don’t like and any additions you’d like me to consider. Comments can be input using the ‘Contact us’ page.

To access a preview of the latest draft resources, click the link above, or on the home page.

Elizabeth Cole

After becoming a Christian as a child and training as a Chemist at university, Liz has spent a successful and happy career in the analytical instrument industry specialising in techniques for measuring toxic gases and bad smells.

She is a firm believer that science and faith both honour our creator God and is enthusiastic to help Christians without a science background see that there is nothing to fear from modern science.

Published in 2023, Liz’s first book, God’s Cosmic Cookbook, is written for 8-13 year olds. With gentle humour throughout, it presents God the chef talking young readers through how to make their own universe at home step by step - from the Big Bang to people!
